Busy Westchester Roadway Reopens After Crash Amid Icy Conditions

Police have reopened a main road in Northern Westchester after a crash in the midst of icy conditions late Friday morning, Jan. 27.

The crash took place in Chappaqua on South Bedford Road (Route 117) between Smith Street and South Greeley Avenue, where a "personal injury auto accident" happened, according to authorities.

South Bedford Road was closed between South Greeley Avenue and Apple Hill Lane. It was announced to be reopened around 2:40 p.m. 

The New Castle Police Department had warned commuters of "icy and hazardous" road conditions in the area, and to drive with caution.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department said in an alert on Friday, Jan. 27 around 10 a.m. that it was also at the crash scene.
